The Hambledon History Group (HHG) is committed to protecting the privacy of our community. This project aims to capture a “snapshot” of Hambledon life in 2025/2026 to be preserved for the future.

2. Information We Collect

When you participate in the Time Capsule project, we may collect:

• Personal Identity: Your name and age (if provided).
• Contact Information: Your email address (used only to verify your submission or contact you regarding the project).
• Contributed Content: Stories, memories, photographs, or digital files you upload.
• Technical Data: Cookies and IP addresses used for the basic functioning of the website.

3. How Your Data is Used

• Preservation: Your contributions are stored securely to be “sealed” within the digital and physical Time Capsule.
• Public Display: By submitting, you understand that your contribution (excluding your email address) may be displayed on this website, in local exhibitions, or in a printed “Time Capsule Book.”
• Future Reveal: This data is intended for preservation for 50 years. You are granting the HHG permission to maintain this data for long-term historical purposes.

4. Consent and Rights

By clicking “Submit” on any of our forms, you are providing explicit consent for the HHG to process your data.

• Withdrawal: You may withdraw your contribution at any time before the capsule is officially sealed by contacting us at timecapsule@historic-hambledon.co.uk
• Minors: We encourage children to participate, but submissions from those under 13 should be made with the supervision/consent of a parent or guardian.

5. Intellectual Property

• Ownership: You retain the moral ownership of your stories and photos.
• License: By submitting to the project, you grant the Hambledon History Group a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to archive, display, and publish the content as part of the Time Capsule project and its associated historical records.

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard encryption (SSL) to protect your uploads. Your contact details (email) will never be sold, shared with third parties, or used for marketing purposes unrelated to the HHG.
